Hotel Doctor Tokyo: English-Speaking House-Call Physician, After Hours & Holidays
Cedar Medical Clinic Tokyo provides a private, English-language house-call physician service for hotel guests who become ill outside regular clinic hours. Our physician, Dr. Hiroaki Hayashi, is U.S.-trained and licensed, with clinical experience in the United States and native-level English fluency — giving international guests the comfort of being examined by a doctor who understands both their language and their concerns.
This service is intended to be arranged by hotel staff on the guest's behalf. If a guest reports feeling unwell, please call us directly rather than asking the guest to contact the clinic themselves — we're glad to coordinate the visit with you from start to finish.
Please note: this service is for medical illness only. We are unable to treat injuries during a house call.
House calls are subject to physician availability and location, and are not covered by Japanese National Health Insurance.
What to Expect: Step by Step
1. Call Hotel staff calls Cedar Medical Clinic Tokyo directly to request a visit, and briefly describes the guest's symptoms.
2. Arrival The physician travels directly to the hotel.
3. Examination The guest is examined privately in their hotel room.
4. Medication If the physician is carrying the appropriate medication, it's dispensed on the spot. If not, a paper prescription is written, and the physician helps identify a nearby pharmacy where it can be filled.
5. Payment Payment is collected at the time of the visit — cash or credit card accepted.
6. Receipt A receipt in English is provided at the time of the visit.
7. Follow-Up If symptoms persist, follow-up is available by telehealth or in person.
House-Call Doctor Rates (10% VAT included)
Weekdays, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM ¥130,000
Weekdays, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM · All day weekends & holidays ¥180,000
Rates include prescription issuance, medication, and on-site testing (COVID-19 antigen test, urinalysis, etc.). Detailed medical certificates can be provided in 1-2 business days if needed.
