Our Doctors

Born in Chicago, Dr. Hayashi spent most of his childhood in Tokyo attending international schools. He returned to Chicago for college and spent 17 years in the U.S. before moving back to Tokyo in 2021. 

Dr. Hayashi is U.S. board-certified in Internal Medicine and has spent his career at large acute care hospitals diagnosing and managing complex medical cases. After moving to Japan, he also practiced at an international clinic, where he gained additional experience in travel medicine. He maintains an active license in the State of Illinois. 

Dr. Hayashi was a competitive swimmer growing up, where he learned the importance of perseverance and hard work through early morning workouts and years of dedicated training. He qualified for national-level competitions and held team records in high school and college. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active with his two daughters through swimming, cycling, and skiing.

Dr. Matsuhiko Hayashi is a nationally recognized nephrologist and former professor at Keio University Hospital. Throughout his distinguished career, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in nephrology and has presented his research at national and international conferences.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Hayashi has extensive experience as an occupational physician, partnering with employers to promote healthier workplaces and support employee well-being. More recently, he served as Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Kawakita General Hospital, where he was responsible for training and mentoring the next generation of physicians.
