Our Doctor

Born in Chicago, Dr. Hayashi spent most of his childhood in Tokyo attending international schools. He returned to Chicago for college and spent 17 years in the U.S. before moving back to Tokyo in 2021.

Dr. Hayashi is U.S. board-certified in Internal Medicine and has spent his career at large acute care hospitals diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. After relocating to Japan, he continued caring for international patients at clinics and hospitals with a strong international presence. In June 2026, he founded Cedar Medical Clinic Tokyo with the goal of providing high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered medical care for the international community.

He maintains an active license in the State of Illinois.

Dr. Hayashi was a competitive swimmer growing up, where he learned the importance of perseverance and hard work through early morning workouts and years of dedicated training. He qualified for national-level competitions and held team records in high school and college. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active with his two daughters through swimming, cycling, and skiing. ​​​
