I trained at a hospital whose motto was “It’s how medicine should be.”

 

This motto has grown with me throughout my career because it reflects my approach as a doctor. That is, to strive for not only clinical excellence but also quality and safety, while treating each patient with dignity and respect. Although the staff at my hospital came from different walks of life, we worked together as a united team towards the shared goal of providing the best possible care for every patient. 

 

Since moving to Japan in 2021, I have met many patients struggling to navigate the Japanese healthcare system. Language is an obvious challenge. However, differences in how healthcare is delivered can be equally difficult. Despite best efforts from most providers, communication barriers and differences in expectations can sometimes leave both patients and doctors feeling that the care provided was not as effective as it could have been. 

 

My goal at Cedar Medical Clinic Tokyo is to bring together the best aspects of healthcare in Japan and the United States.

 

Our clinic operates primarily in English, and we accept Japanese health insurance. We provide care for international residents, families, and visitors to Japan, among others. Our services range from primary and urgent care to health check-ups, vaccinations, and travel medicine.

 

We are deeply grateful for the positive feedback received from our patients since we opened our doors in June 2026.

Our goal is simple. We want Cedar Medical Clinic Tokyo to represent how English medical care in Tokyo should be.
